Measure the opening on the physical cover and place the title, name, or reference number well inside that area. Do not use the full opening as the text boundary because printer movement, punching, and sheet movement inside the binding can shift the content. Keep essential information away from every edge and use a repeatable template for recurring documents. The first sheet should still have a balanced layout when the cover is removed. Print at actual size and disable unintended scaling in the print settings. After binding one sample, view it from normal reading distance and under typical lighting. Record the approved margins, font size, paper orientation, and printer settings for later jobs.
