Use strong visual differences instead of several shades that may look similar in low light. A written key should be shared with admission, security, and activity staff before use. The wristband should be secure enough that it cannot pass over the wearer’s hand, while leaving enough space for normal movement and comfort. A practical approach is to leave room for a fingertip between the band and wrist, although the correct fit depends on the wearer and wristband design. Do not apply it over clothing, jewellery, or a watch because these can affect security and comfort. Ask the wearer whether the fit feels restrictive before pressing the adhesive closure fully. For children or people who may be sensitive to pressure, staff should take extra care and follow the event’s safety procedure. The band should be removed promptly if it causes pain, swelling, irritation, numbness, or restricted circulation.

Base the quantity on expected attendance, staff use, replacements, damaged bands, multiple access groups, and any planned colour coding. Include a reasonable allowance for incorrect applications and unexpected attendance, but avoid mixing unused bands into future events without recording their colours and number ranges. Large packs are practical for recurring venues and high-volume events when the same identification system will remain in use. Keep unopened stock dry, clean, and protected from excessive heat so the adhesive remains reliable.
