Frequently Asked Questions

For short-term signs, promotional panels, and window graphics, start with removable adhesive media rather than permanent adhesive film. SEAL Easy Dot options are available in 4 mil white matte and frosted clear removable adhesive formats. The dot adhesive structure is useful when the installer needs cleaner placement with fewer trapped air pockets. White matte media gives printed graphics a solid background and helps text stay readable under bright retail lighting. Frosted clear media is better when the design needs a translucent glass effect. For similar jobs, self-adhesive print media should be selected by adhesive type, finish, roll width, and display time.

Start with your printer’s maximum roll width, then check the finished graphic size and trim plan. SEAL print media options include multiple roll widths, including smaller rolls for samples or limited runs and wider rolls for larger display graphics. A 27" roll may suit smaller panels, test jobs, or narrow graphics, while a 54" roll can reduce seams on larger work when the printer supports it. Roll length also affects waste and reload time. Short rolls are practical for testing or specialty jobs. Longer rolls fit repeat production better. For event graphics, trade show display media should be planned around booth size, viewing distance, lighting, and finishing needs.

Removable adhesive is usually the safer choice for temporary window graphics, seasonal promotions, event signage, and short retail campaigns. It gives the installer more flexibility and helps reduce the risk of residue or surface damage when graphics need to come down. Permanent adhesive is better for longer display periods where removal is not the main concern. Before ordering, confirm the surface, expected display time, indoor or outdoor exposure, and whether repositioning is needed during installation. If the printed piece will be mounted to a board rather than placed directly on glass, mounting adhesive may be the better part of the finishing plan.

White matte media is the safer choice when the design includes small text, logos, product photos, instructions, or solid brand colors. The white base helps the print remain readable, and the matte finish helps reduce glare in bright rooms or under display lighting. Frosted clear media is better for decorative glass graphics, privacy-style panels, or designs where a translucent effect matters more than strong color density. Also confirm the media thickness, printable side, adhesive style, and printer compatibility before production. If the graphic will be handled, shipped, or displayed longer than a short campaign, review whether lamination or mounting will be added after printing.

Confirm printer compatibility, roll width, film thickness, adhesive type, finish, and the final installation surface. A roll can be the right size for the artwork but still be wrong for the printer, laminator, cutter, or mounting step. Adhesive-backed media also needs surface testing because smooth glass, display boards, painted walls, and retail fixtures may respond differently. If the job includes trimming, laminating, or mounting, plan those steps before ordering the media. Keep notes from the first approved job, including printer settings, trim margins, and install surface. Those notes help repeat campaigns stay consistent without guessing each time a new graphic order comes in.
