Thinner film adds surface protection while allowing the finished piece to remain relatively flexible. Thicker film provides more body and resistance to frequent handling, but it also changes stiffness, roll weight, heat requirements, cooling time, and the way large graphics hang or roll for storage. The best thickness depends on whether the item is a temporary poster, frequently handled map, menu, sign, book cover, or mounted display. Avoid choosing the thickest option automatically, because excess rigidity may make folding, rolling, trimming, or installation more difficult. Confirm that the laminator supports the thickness and run the actual print through a short test. The result should remain flat, clear, well bonded, and suitable for its intended handling and display method.
