A laminate-and-adhesive finish is useful when the front of the piece needs protection while the back needs to attach to another surface. The receiving surface should be clean and suitable for the adhesive, while the printed face should be tested for clarity and color changes under the film. Decide whether the bond should be permanent or capable of repositioning before processing. Feed one sample through the full workflow, including trimming and mounting, because a result that looks good immediately after lamination may behave differently once applied to its final surface.

A different system may be necessary when normal projects exceed the 900 width, when output volume makes smaller cartridges inefficient, or when the work requires mounting materials and supply formats not supported by the machine.
