First of all it's solid as a rock, heavy as I'll get out, and extremely safe. It has a cutting length of 18 5/8', that's along the blade is, and the cut capacity 700 sheets. I tried it with 500 and it was a breeze. The simple and precise measuring tools were easy to use and spot on. It has a built in quick action manual paper clamp that holds the entire stack nice and firm. Safety has it that blade is locked in place until the cover is completely down and the lever is awesome, not to high, not too long, pull it down with one or two hands and slice right through your stack. it's hard to believe I was chopping through a phonebook here.
