Thank you for your question. The Fastbind Elite XT Hot Melt Perfect Binder would be able to be used for binding a soft cover book such as a magazine. One thing to consider is the Fastbind system works best with bond paper if your magazine is printed on a glossy stock a adhesive based binding system would not be your best option.

Thank you for your question. The best way to see if this machine would work with your paper is to send us a sample and we could have a test book made for you. The machine has a "paper grain opener" which provides more flexibility when working with different paper types. Being that this is a thermal process, the process requires absorption of the glue, the glossy coatings prevent this process in most situations.
