Welcome to MyBinding Video. This is the Pulsar+ 300 from Fellowes. This binding machine is perfect for the flourishing small office environment. It’s an affordable machine, with big time binding capability. The compact design just needs to have the lid and the handle raised in order to operate. To help you keep materials at hand, a comb storage tray is located in the right side. It features a document thickness and comb size guide to help you choose the appropriate comb. I’ve found that going up a comb size is easier than trying to force a comb that’s almost fits. The punch throat is extremely easy to use, because theres very little room for pages to move left or right, and the vertical orientation keeps pages flush to the binding edge. The paper throat guide has two settings, 8.5x11” letter size and 8.75x11.25” oversized covers. Punching the maximum 20 sheets of 20lb paper takes some force, but the Pulsar+ was able to do it repeatedly. It’s recommended to punch covers separately. When you’re done punching, place the appropriate size comb into the loading teeth from behind, and turn the left side handle toward you to open the comb. This machine can bind books up to 300 pages. When you’re done loading your pages and covers, return the handle and remove your book. Don’t forget to periodically empty the waste tray. When you’re all done binding, you can lower the handle and the lid for easy storage. Fellowes even includes a starter pack of 10 binding covers. There are 4 clear, 3 black and 3 white covers. Thank you for your question. The Fellowes Pulsar+ 300 Manual Comb Binding Machine does not have disengagable dies so on smaller documents you may end up with half punches on the edge of the sheet.
The Fellowes Pulsar+ 300 Manual Comb Binding Machine is designed to work with a Letter Sized pages ( 8.5" x 11") and it does not have a open throat so unfortunately it would not work with 12" sheets. Your best bet is to look for a machine that has a open throat (open on the end so the excess paper can stick out) or has a native width that handle legal size paper.
Unfortunately, no this machine has a closed punching throat which only allows up to Letter/A4 size paper. It will punch 19 holes down a 11 inch binding length. In order to punch and bind for a 12 inch length, you will need to look at a comb machine with an open throat. Most standard machines will be Letter and A4 they can punch for.
