Works well Review by Marcie

While I am sad that Fellowes did away with a couple features in their update of this machine and others, the machine itself is built well and works. It is now just a little harder to do odd sized binding items without a bit more trial and error.

So easy to use Review by Robert

I had an inexpensive binder and was continually frustrated with feeding pages into the comb binding, I looked at several machines and decided that this one would meet most of my needs. I was nicely surprised at the quality of this machine. It is so easy to use and I can actually punch and bind at the same time.

Fantastic! Review by Laura

I absolutely can't say enough about this binding machine. It is beautiful, but more than that, it is durable. I was looking for a binding machine for personal use. I'm into genealogy, and from time to time want to make a book on families. I researched the machines and had decided to buy a Fellowes; however, when I went into our Office Depot, they only had Swingline machines in stock. So, rather than wait for ordering a Fellowes, I bought a Swingline top of the line. Brought it home, and I think it only punched two pages before it quit. Totally quit. Took it back to the store for a refund. Then I went online and found the Fellowes one on sale for less than the Swingline. I was skeptical, but saw the great reviews! What a difference!! The quality is amazing. I LOVE IT!!! Look no further if you are in the market for a binding machine. THIS IS THE ONE!!!!

Thank you Fellowes Review by Donald Greenstein

Purchased this fellows binding machine last week on Amazon and on sale for about $60. It is wonderful, heavy duty and intuitively simple to figure out even without its instruction booklet. I say this as I almost did not buy it because of some complaints about how hard it was to figure out how to insert the spirals for lack of good information in the booklet. I figured it out, without the booklet, in under 3 minutes. I bought it as I had to prepare a booklet and after visiting a print shop found out that the price to do 65 booklets was over $800. I did the same thing, machine and supplies included for under $100 and 2 hours of my time. Great buy and great machine.

I love how easy it is to use this binder. Particularly the ability to punch pages, insert them on the binder comb, punch additional pages and insert them, etc. My old comb binder required punching all sheets first and then creating the booklet. I do have to make a little extra effort to be sure the pages are accurately aligned in the punch or the they won't punch evenly. Occasionally I have holes that aren't completely punched in plastic covers, which prevents this rating from being 5 stars. But if I'm careful as I go, I usually have no issues!

Welcome to MyBinding Video. This is the Pulsar+ 300 from Fellowes. This binding machine is perfect for the flourishing small office environment. It’s an affordable machine, with big time binding capability. The compact design just needs to have the lid and the handle raised in order to operate. To help you keep materials at hand, a comb storage tray is located in the right side. It features a document thickness and comb size guide to help you choose the appropriate comb. I’ve found that going up a comb size is easier than trying to force a comb that’s almost fits. The punch throat is extremely easy to use, because theres very little room for pages to move left or right, and the vertical orientation keeps pages flush to the binding edge. The paper throat guide has two settings, 8.5x11” letter size and 8.75x11.25” oversized covers. Punching the maximum 20 sheets of 20lb paper takes some force, but the Pulsar+ was able to do it repeatedly. It’s recommended to punch covers separately. When you’re done punching, place the appropriate size comb into the loading teeth from behind, and turn the left side handle toward you to open the comb. This machine can bind books up to 300 pages. When you’re done loading your pages and covers, return the handle and remove your book. Don’t forget to periodically empty the waste tray. When you’re all done binding, you can lower the handle and the lid for easy storage. Fellowes even includes a starter pack of 10 binding covers. There are 4 clear, 3 black and 3 white covers. If all that isn’t enough, Fellowes backs up the Pulsar+ with a 2 year warranty. For more videos and all your binding needs, visit MyBinding.com.

Questions & Answers
Q:
Does this machine have pins that you can lock to bind smaller sized documents, like 5x7?
Asked by Jessica
A:
Thank you for your question. The Fellowes Pulsar+ 300 Manual Comb Binding Machine does not have disengagable dies so on smaller documents you may end up with half punches on the edge of the sheet.

Q:
What is the maximum size of the paper that can be binded? I would like to bind some sheet music which is 12". Thanks.
Asked by Brian Edwards
A:
The Fellowes Pulsar+ 300 Manual Comb Binding Machine is designed to work with a Letter Sized pages ( 8.5" x 11") and it does not have a open throat so unfortunately it would not work with 12" sheets. Your best bet is to look for a machine that has a open throat (open on the end so the excess paper can stick out) or has a native width that handle legal size paper.

Q:
I want to bind sheet music which is 12". Can this machine bind sheets 12" in length?
Asked by Brian Edwards
A:
Unfortunately, no this machine has a closed punching throat which only allows up to Letter/A4 size paper. It will punch 19 holes down a 11 inch binding length. In order to punch and bind for a 12 inch length, you will need to look at a comb machine with an open throat. Most standard machines will be Letter and A4 they can punch for.
