Welcome to MyBinding video. When it comes to self paper drilling and paper punching, Lassco Wizer is one of the best companies on the market in making top quality equipment. This is the Lassco Wizer Spinnit Manual Lift Spindle Paper Drill. Manufactured for single, double and triple spindle, this is a long lasting heavy duty machine. We took our cameras down to the production facility to watch one of our own spinnits in action with our tech Tony. It has a large work table at 15” x 32” wide. It’s shipped with four separate standard measuring plates so you can set your machine where you want it and make multiple punches even if it’s a single spindle. The plates slide in the back and clamp down. The spinnit has a 2” lift capacity and can work through 500 sheets of paper in a time. The table is locked in place and unlocked by two handles on either side of the table, so you can slide it back and forth between your measurements. As the drill bit comes down, below it is a removable drill strip. This helps protect the drill bit in use. The spinnit has hands free foot pedal action that does the work for you while you hold your project. Adjustment of the height and lowering of the blade is by a double locking height knob right below the table. Part of paper drilling is clearing the hollow drill bit. When you do so, the chips fall out into a container and into a bag in the back. And again, the drill bit is easily accessed behind the safety plate in the front for waxing and lubricating. This is also very convenient for drill bit removal so that you can sharpen them as needed. Here at MyBinding, we’re committed to you as a customer and we have all of these extra supplies in stock. And should you have any questions at all, our customer service would love to answer those questions. Just give us a call and we can help you find the solution. Among the strengths of the Lassco Wizer Spinnit is it’s free form or standard hole patterns ease of use. It’s extremely flexible. You can do virtually anything that you want with it in terms of hole pattern and hole numbers as well as a few plates to make your standard jobs much faster to do. Happy drilling! Hello and welcome to MyBinding video. So you have the Lassco Wizer Spinnit Machine and you have a few questions on maintenance and adjustment. Well, that’s what this video is all about. This is how to care for and adjust your Lassco Wizer Spinnit. As I’m sure you’ll agree, this is a great machine. Let’s walk through its different features. Let’s begin with measuring plate placement. Included in the box with the machine are four plates with standard holes. As you face the machine, just on the back side on the right side is a knob. Loosen it out and you can remove or add your measuring plate. Slide it all the way in until it snaps shut and then lock it down. When sliding the work table left to right, you need to press both handles at the same time and you can feel the clicks and the locks as it goes between the holes. Sometimes in paper drilling, the drill will go all the way through the paper and into the drill strip. Should this happen, you’ll need to make adjustments but you can also replace that wood strip. We carry many sizes for many machines. You’ll want to use a chip board below your paper stock so that you don’t bore in to that wood. You should just go barely into the chip board and not pass it. The knob below the table is double locking. You’ll need to use both hands to raise or lower that drill. It’s important but when it’s there, it’s locked in place. It’s a good idea each time you use the machine to clear out the hollow drill bits. These chips could get in there, get compacted and do damage. You can clear the bit while it’s in the machine or by hand. To save wear and tear on both the bit and the motor, be sure to wax or lubricate that drill bit. Drill-ease is a great product that we sell and shaped kind of like a chopstick. Lifting the safety glass on the front gives you access to the drill bit. Using the tool that’s included with your machine, pop out the bit and then sharpen it. Since paper drill bits are hollow, they’re actually sharpened from the inside. These special tools, either by hand or the small machine are done very easily and should be done so on a regular basis. When operating your machine, please always do so with great caution because it is moving parts and they’re very sharp and always line up your papers so they’re nice and square. The product will be perfect. And as always, give us a call if you’ve any questions at all. Happy Drilling. For more demos, reviews and how-to’s, check out MyBinding.com.

Lassco Wizer Spinnit FM-2 Manual Life Single Spindle Paper Drill Review

Lassco Wizer makes some of the best paper drills around including the single spindle Spinnit FM-2. This is a heavy-duty device that's easy to use and it comes with all the supplies you need. Let's take a look at this product's strengths and weaknesses as outlined below.

Strengths:

  • The FM-2 is capable of drilling through a 500-sheet ream of paper in one shot. That's because it has a 2-inch drilling capacity. This is a great device to have around if you need to quickly put holes in your paper.

  • This device has a table that measures 15" x 32" so you'll be able to drill letter- and legal-sized paper easily. Since the table is so wide you'll have plenty of workspace and won't feel cramped. Also, the table moves around so it'll be pretty easy to put multiple holes in your sheets.

  • This machine has a foot pedal, allowing for hands-free operation. You'll feel more in control of the process because of it. Also, since this device is manually operated you won't need to work with oil or any other the other supplies needed for a hydraulic device.

  • There are a number of supplies needed to start working with a drill. Luckily, the FM-2 comes with everything you need including a 5/16" drill bit, lubricant, and sharpener.

  • This is a heavy-duty machine that's well-constructed. You'll be able to get a lot of use out of it.

  • The FM-2 is one of the most reasonably priced floor model paper drills on the market, so it would be a great choice if you need to stick to a budget. Plus, it's covered by a one-year warranty so you can get it repaired or replaced if anything goes wrong with it.

Weaknesses:

  • The FM-2 is a single spindle drill which means it can only drill one hole at a time. This could be a problem if you need to put multiple holes (i.e. a three-hole pattern) in a lot of paper.

  • This is a pretty large unit that measures 54" (height) x 32" (width) x 26" (depth) and weighs 150 pounds. It will take up a fair bit of room in your workspace. Also, it can only be shipped by truck. (It's too large to go in the mail.)

  • The FM-2 is a baby blue color. This might not be the best hue for some workplaces.

The Lassco Wizer Spinnit FM-2 would be a good choice if you're in the market for a heavy-duty paper drill that only has one spindle. You'll be able to use this device to work with letter- and legal-sized paper and the large moving table offers you a lot of workspace. Operation will be easy thanks to the foot pedal and you'll have everything you need to use the machine right in the crate. Just keep in mind that it can only drill one hole at a time. If all of this sounds good to you, be sure to take a look at the FM-2 today.
