The MBM Triumph 5222 Digicut is a high quality programmable 20-1/2" programmable hydraulic paper cutter that provides state of the art cutting abilities to you and your organization. The Triumph 5222 is fully programmable and offers the ability to cut sheets up to 20.5" in length. The hydraulic clamp on the machine provides for adjustable clamping pressure for use with stocks that may be easily marred by the clamping mechanism. Plus, the Digicut 5222 also allows you to use a false clamp for applications that are extremely sensitive to pressure or marking. This high quality device is fully programmable and offers state of the art cutting abilities. Here is a closer look at the details of the 5222.
Strengths:
- As with every Triumph cutter, the Safety Cutting System is standard. This includes features such as automatic clamp return, a disk brake for the blade, and two handed operation. Both the cutting sticks and the blade can be changed and adjusted without removing the machine’s covers. This results in the sharp edge staying safely concealed. These along with other features help ensure injury free operation.
- The programmable system allows up to 99 jobs to be stored, each with up to nine repeat cuts. This is especially crucial in high production environments where time is of the essence; time is saved by not repeatedly entering the same measurements. A digital readout in either centimeters or inches displays the exact size of paper about to be cut while an optical cutting line provides a visual reference.
- Hydraulic controls allows specialty stocks to be processed without marks or indentations. The adjustable pressure on the clamp is excellent for dealing with a variety of materials and the false clamp cushions paper that is highly sensitive to pressure or markings. A guide on both sides helps to provide even pressure throughout the length of the knife and is variable between 440 and 2420 psi, ideal for digital printing.

- Paper sliced can be as wide as 20.5 inches and stacked as high as 3-1/8 inches. This allows an entire ream of paper to be sliced at once. Strips can be cut as narrow as 7/8″ without the false clamp, 3.5″ with. Behind the blade is an extra 20-3/8″ of available workspace with 16″ in front.
Weaknesses:
- This electronic device offers highly specialized measurements. But the pressure available isn’t ideal for all stocks. While most businesses will find this adequate, some may require a stronger grasp. For this we suggest the 5551-06EP, which has a range of 1900-3800 psi.
- Weighing in at 900 pounds, this is a very large piece of machinery. There are casters on the bottom for easier mobility. However, the sheer size of the unit prevents comfortable use in most small offices. Be sure you have both the need and space for this size device.
