Like the binding machine fine after it took me awhile to figure it all out. Maybe I'm a little dense.

Well worth the money Review by Maribeth

This is my second one. My first one I broke trying to punch the holes in too many of the plastic covers at a time. It makes binding so simple, even my boss can do it!

Great product Review by Steve

I love it. My only downside, is I wish it came with a few various combs to get started with. But as far as the machine goes, ITS PERFECT ! ! ! !

Not Perfect Review by Dawn

I like the binding machine. It punches nice and clean and up to 10 pages. I don't want to do more than that, because I don't want to break it. Unfortunately, the comb spreader does not work properly. You're supposed to drop the comb on the spreader and push the arm back and it opens the comb so that you can put your book on it. The one I rec'd is off just enough to where it doesn't open. I have to open the spreader about a quarter of an inch and then put each individual comb on the spreader. So it's not quick, but it does the trick. So that means I cannot do anything at 1/4 inch. Too bad, I wanted to make some calendars.

I love this machine! Review by Maryon

As a teacher, I would have loved having a binder at home. The price for this machine was very reasonable. Such a convenience to have a binder in my classroom.

Reasonably good for the price Review by CoolProfJim

For a relatively slight level of usage, this machine is a good value for the relatively low price. It does exactly what needs to be done, especially with a little practice. But I wouldn't want to have to bind dozens of things on a regular basis.

With your pages aligned, pull the lever down towards yourself. When you're finished punching all your pages, place your comb binding properly into the machine. Push the handle away from yourself to open the binding. Open the comb so all your pages can fit, then thread your pages in facing down. When all your pages are in, close the binding up and your book is finished. One of the best parts is that the MiniComb is made almost completely of metal. The only plastic is the cover of the punching mechanism. For more demos, reviews and how-to's, go to MyBinding.com.

Welcome to MyBinding.com. This is the MiniComb Plastic Comb Binding Machine.

Whether you're binding daily, monthly or yearly, this affordable machine makes comb binding simple and cost effective for you. All MyBinding’s machines are made with high quality, long lasting materials and are backed by a two year warranty for peace of mind. Start by removing the thumbscrew on the right side, slip on the handle and replace the screw. Adjust the left edge stop for the correct size paper, then you can punch up to 12 pages of 20 pound paper. There's an easy 11 inch guide for standard paper, and the punch holes are numbered. This particular machine makes rectangular holes standard for comb binding spines. The tab on the left side of the machine is used to set your margins depending on the size of your booklet. Don’t forget to periodically empty the waste tray. After you've punched your pages and covers, set your comb into the metal teeth on top of the machine. Push the handle away from you to open the comb just enough to set your pages into the comb, then release the handle back to the center position and remove your completed binder. One advantage to using comb binding is the ability to open it back up and make alterations without replacing the spine. Stop paying expensive labor and make perfect booklets on your own time with MyBinding's line of hole punch and binding machines.

Questions & Answers
Q:
Can I close some of the punch holes that I don’t want to punch?
Asked by Mary Lou Ray
A:
Thank you for your question. The MINICOMB Manual Plastic Comb Binding Machine does not have dies that can be disengaged and will always with all dies. You would need a machine that has dies that can be disengaged from punching. You can find one example of a machine with that feature here .

Q:
Are the proclick bindings compatible to the comb binding hole punches?
Asked by Busy mom
A:
Thank you for your question. ProClick spines have a different hole spacing than combs and would not be compatible. The GBC ZipBinds are similar to the ProClick spines but have the same spacing as the combs. You can find our selection of ZipBinds here .

Q:
Can this machine punch through laminated covers?
Asked by Sylvia Jones
A:
Thank you for your question. The MINICOMB Manual Plastic Comb Binding Machine would be able to punch through a sheet laminated with a very thin laminate. As a light weight machine it would have issues with a medium to heavy thickness of laminate.

Q:
Why would I need to use the adjustable margin control?
Asked by W. Davis
'>
A:
The adjustable margin control on this machine is designed to let you move the holes closer to the edge of the document for smaller books and further away for larger books. If the holes are too far from the edge pages won't turn freely (this is especially true when using 3/16" and 1/4" combs). If you put the holes too close to the edge the pages will tear out easily when binding thicker documents.

Q:
Can this machine punch through covers?
Asked by J. Jones
A:
Yes you should be able to punch through almost all of the covers that we sell on our site with this machine. However, if you are punching plastic covers it is really important that you only punch one cover at a time in order to prevent issues with the punching pins. We do not recommend punching 35ga or 55ga poly with this machine or hard covers.

Q:
What is the warranty on this machine? What if I have a problem?
Asked by K. Williams
'>
A:
The warranty is two years and the warranty is serviced by MyBinding.com. If you have an issue just give us a call. One of our technicians will help you troubleshoot the issue and if we can't fix it we will have you return the machine and will replace it for you. It doesn't get much simpler than that. Q:
What is the largest size document that I can bind with this machine?
Asked by Johnson_NY
'>
A:
If you are referring to thickness, the machine is capable of binding documents up to 2 inches thick. However, considering the smaller punch capacity it is probably best suited for thinner documents and proposals. If you are wondering about paper size the Minicomb is really best suited for letter sized documents. However you can bind an 11x17 document on the eleven inch side quite easily with the machine. If you want to do other sizes you probably want to consider a machine with interchangeable dies so that you can ensure that you don't end up with a half hole on the edge of your sheet

Q:
How many sheets of 28lb paper is this capable of punching?
Asked by Blake V.
A:
The Minicomb can punch 7 28lb sheets at a time. Our ratings for punching capacity we use on our website is based of using 20 lb paper. The Minicomb is rated for 12 sheets of 20lb paper.

Q:
Will this machine work if I need to punch a document that is 14 inches long?
Asked by Shane D.
A:
We recommend a machine with continuous punching for larger documents. This machine does have an open throat and could do 17 inches but you would have to line it up exactly to get the punch pattern correct for combs. If you need help selecting a machine, please feel free to call us at 800-944-4573.
