The DestroyIt 4014 SMC (Super Micro Cut) Shredder from MBM is a great heavy duty, high volume, centralized office shredder designed to shred large amounts of material daily. The DestroyIt 4014 SMC (Super Micro Cut) Shredder features a "SPS" (Safety Protection System) package with a electronically controlled, transparent safety shield in the feed opening. It also includes a single multifunction switch with optical indicators for stand-by/stop/reverse. The Destroyit 4014 will automatically stop when your shred bin is full or when the cabinet door is opened. It also has an automatic reverse and stop in case of paper jam. The Destroyit 4014 SMC (Super Micro Cut) Shredder has double protection against overheating, automatic start and stop controlled by a photo cell, high quality hardened steel cutting shafts. All Destroyit Super Micro Cut shredders have a 1 year warranty on their Cut shafts and wheels. All other parts have a 1 year warranty (excluding wearables).

Strengths:
- Use is automatically controlled by a photo cell that detects paper in the feed and instantly begins shredding. The opening is guarded by a transparent safety shield to prevent ties and other objects from entering the blades. The “Easy Switch” controls stand-by, stop, and reverse modes in a single button. Lighted icons display the current operational status while in use. The stop function is programmed to activate if the shred bin is full, the cabinet door is ajar, or if there is a jam. Paper jams are quickly cleared as the auto reverse slides items out to help unclog the blades. If the machine sits idle for one hour, an Energy Save Mode triggers the motor to power down to a sleep mode to conserve electricity.
- The powerful single phase motor is rated for continuous operation and double protected against overheating. Weaknesses
- The hardened steel blades on this model are not rated for paperclips, staples, or credit cards, only paper. If you want this machine specifically for the high security rating, this shouldn’t be a problem. However, for a general office shredder, you might consider a lower security version of this model that can handle these items.
- At 390 pounds, this is a heavy device. With swivel casters mounted on the bottom for easy mobility, we think this won’t be an issue for most users
- The wide feed only takes up to 16 sheets at once. With a shredding rate of 44 feet per minute, this is one of MBM’s fastest devices and the smaller capacity isn’t unusual for a high security shredder. If you don’t need this much security and want more capacity, this model is available in lower security versions accepting up to 52 sheets at once.
