Built to combine high volume performance with security, this device is both efficient and easy to use. Strengths:
- Ease of use is given by the many automatic and safety features. Operation is controlled by a safety locking key that turns the device on and off. A plastic curtain hangs in front of the opening and protects the user from any potential flying particles. Weaknesses:
- Weighing around 1600 pounds when empty, this is one hefty piece of equipment. Unfortunately only the waste bin is on casters, not the entire unit. If you need to move it, we suggest using a heavy duty appliance dolly to help you.
- The small pieces created by the blades only earn a level 2 security rating. For generic office shredding and low risk documents, this is an adequate rating. However, for confidential information, you might prefer the higher security, smaller cross cut version of this model, the S16.50 6mm x 15mm-50mm, which offers a level 3 security rating.
