Sharp and better grip than regular exactos.

Sharp and this model is with the kind of grip I prefer. Works excellent and a healing mat is must. I would like the company to consider a better cap. The transparent cap gets lost in the pile of craft stuff. It would be nice to have cap with opaque color and a bit more thickness to jacket the super sharp blade.

Hours of use? No problem

So comfortable! I got this because I do scratchboard art and my metal ones hurt to hold for a long time because they are too skinny and have no comfort grip. This one however is so comfortable and grippy. I've used it for hours at a time and my hand doesn't hurt! If you need one for comfort I say get this one. It's a great price for the hours you're gonna get from it. Picture posted is one I did with this knife. See all the little tiny scratches I had to make? My normal knife would have cramped my hand doing a fraction of those but I was able to do ALL of them without any pain. Definitely worth the 5 stars in my book.

The safety cap is worthless

The safety cap on this X-2000 knife is worthless. It pops off way to easy. It needs to have some sort of threaded attachment. A regular #1 Xacto knife handle can be converted to a rubber handle, no-roll design with a few inches of 3/8" rubber fuel line and a zip-tie around it. The safety caps for the regular #1 Xacto knife are ~OK. A piece of 3/8" fuel line can also be used as a functional safety cap for a #1 handle. The Xacto brand (owned by Elmers) #1 knife handles are much better than the cheap aftermarket handles though.
