Safety has it that blade is locked in place until the cover is completely down and the lever is awesome, not to high, not too long, pull it down with one or two hands and slice right through your stack. It’s hard to believe I was chopping through a phonebook here. You can place it at any desk or surface but also has an optional heavy duty stand that compliments it and gives you more workspace.
