Swingline 39002 Platinum Heavy-Duty Stapler Review

Swingline makes great staplers, both large and small. One of their heavy-duty products is the 39002, a stapler that can process documents containing as many as 160 sheets. We took a close look at this device to see what features it had and how it should rate on a scale of 1 to 10. Here's what we found out.

  • The 39002 is an excellent choice if your workplace needs a stapler that can handle very thick documents. This device can staple up to 160 sheets of 20 lb. paper at a time, which is a really terrific amount. You'll be able to use this stapler for just about every document you produce which is really convenient.

  • This stapler has a throat that's 2.625" deep so you'll have some flexibility as to where your document is stapled. However, the throat isn't really deep enough for center stapling, so if you frequently need to do that, you should purchase the appropriate device.

  • The 39002 is easy to use and you'll remain comfortable even when you're using it for a long period of time. That's because it has soft-touch material in a couple of places that promote comfortable stapling.

  • This device is compatible with heavy-duty staples in both the Swingline #353XX and #793XX series. You can use staples of the following sizes depending on the thickness of your documents: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", and 3/4".

  • You won't experience many jams when working with the 39002 and if you do, they're easy to clear up thanks to a jam-clearing mechanism at the front of the device. This feature allows you to quickly take care of any problems so you can get back to more important matters.

  • This stapler has a nice platinum-like finish so it will look great in your office.

  • The 39002 is very durable and it features an all-metal stapling mechanism. You'll be able to get years of use out of this device even if you use it frequently. This makes it a great value - you'll definitely feel like you're getting your money's worth out of it.

  • If you want a stapler with a good warranty, the 39002 is a great choice. It's backed by a limited lifetime warranty which is always a sign that the manufacturer believes in its product.

Final rating: 9. The Swingline 39002 Platinum Heavy-Duty Stapler is a fantastic choice if you need a high-quality device for your workplace. This device's stapling capacity can't be beat, making it ideal for all sizes of documents. When you use this device, you'll find the whole process very comfortable and any jams you experience will be easy to fix thanks to this stapler's jam-clearing mechanism. It's great that this product is compatible with a variety of different staples as well. Best of all, this product is very durable and you'll be able to use it for years, making it a terrific bargain. Finally, the limited lifetime warranty is the icing on the proverbial cake. If all of this sounds good to you, be sure to check out the 39002 today.

This stapler is limited in how far it can open, but it should accomodate its 160-sheet capacity with the space available.

Our Heavy Duty Staplers are rear-loading, so you push the back piece at the back of the stapler in, lift up a bit, and then it will pop outwards.

The little lever on the front should push down, and then the front plate of the stapler will swing open - this should release any jammed staples.

if you are asking about removing the back so you can load staples, the plastic piece at the back of the stapler pushes in, then lifts up slightly and then will release back.

The front lever is actually just to open that panel for clearing any jams which may occur.

5/8" is the size of the staples. So if your stapler is calling for 5/8" for stapling 120 pages, the staples you need would be S7090009.

You may be using the wrong staples for the sheet capacity you are stapling. On the base of the stapler, there is a guide that shows sheet capacity ranges and what staple length is needed.
