Tamerica TCC-SP410 Spiral Coil Binding Machine Review

Coil binding is one of the best document finishing methods around. It looks great and it can help you put together lengthy documents that will impress everyone. To take advantage of this great binding method, you need a device like the Tamerica TCC-SP410. Here are the strengths and weaknesses of this machine. Check them out.

Strengths:

  • The TCC-SP410 has a very good punching capacity. It has the ability to punch 5,000 sheets per hour which breaks down to 20 sheets per lift. This is one of the best punching capacities you'll find in a spiral binding machine.

  • In addition to its great punching capacity, this machine can bind books in the blink of an eye. You can expect to be able to bind up to 250 books per hour which is an incredible amount.

  • The majority of coil binders on the market can handle letter-sized documents that measure 8.5 x 11". However, not all of them are compatible with 8.5" x 14" legal-sized paper. The TCC-SP410 is though. It has a 14-inch punching/binding width as well as an open throat and dies that are completely disengageable so you can work with different sizes of documents.

  • When you use the TCC-SP410, you can use just about any size of coil your document calls for. This device is compatible with all coils that are up to 1-3/7" across. Thus, your documents can contain almost 400 pages, making this the perfect device if you regularly bind thick books. Also, coils come in just about any color you could ever want, so there's bound to be one that's just right for your document.

  • This device is incredibly durable thanks to its all-metal construction. Even if you frequently punch and bind with it, this machine will be able to be used for years.

  • The TCC-SP410 has one of the best warranties you'll find. It comes with two years' worth of coverage.

Weaknesses:

  • If you need to bind a document that's less than 400 pages, the TCC-SP410 would be a good choice. You should seek a different device if that's the case.

  • This machine is totally manual so it's not going to be as fast as an electric device. It also lacks a foot pedal so you may find yourself a bit fatigued after you've used it for a while.

  • The TCC-SP410 comes with a pair of coil crimpers. This type of tool is necessary to complete the binding process.

Although the Tamerica TCC-SP410 has a couple of weaknesses, they don't outweigh this machine's strengths. This is one of the best coil binding machines on the market and it would be perfect for medium-sized offices and organizations. The punching capacity is first-rate and it's pretty impressive that you can crank out 250 books in just one hour when you use this machine. If this sounds like what you're looking for in a coil binding machine, be sure to take a closer look at the TCC-SP410 today and see firsthand what it can do.

Questions & Answers

Thank you for your question. The Tamerica TCC-SP410 Spiral Coil Binding Machine punches a 44 hole 4:1 pattern on the 11" side.

Thank you for your question. The industry standard pitch for coil binding is 4:1 ( 4 holes per inch) , and hole spacing is not a adjustable option on any the binding machines. To get a machine that will be able to punch 5:1 you would need to get a dedicated 5:1 machine or a modular machine with a 5:1 die set.

Check out this page. We carry coil in sizes from 6mm-50mm and in virtually any color you can imagine. Black is the most popular though.
