This is the X-Acto 18 inch Heavy Duty Wood Guillotine Cutter!

First, you can take the backstop and insert it into the channel cut out in the board.

Then unlock the blade.

Now insert your project and cut away.

The backstop fits very snuggly in the channel, and wiggling it from the sides is the easiest way to get it out. The dotted lines are half in measurements, and the solid lines are the centimeter measurements.

There is also some common sizes labeled on the board, and some common angles.

The board is nice dense wood, but most everything else is plastic, which adds to itš™s lightness in weight, but feels less sturdy.

Some cutters I use do not produce a straight line by using the top edge as a guideš”this one did a decent job, but usually you are better off by using the lines as your guide.

I tried cutting through 20 pages, 15, pages, and 12 pages. It claims to do 15, but I recommend 12 as a better maximum. The lesser pages you cut at a time, the cleaner your cut will be.

Great Cutter

I use this for crafts. It is heavy and sturdy. It cuts well and has a good quality safety lock. I had a smaller one that was not well built. I wasn't sure how much better this one would be. This is made to last and is durable.

Good but not 100%

This is a really nice product and very sturdy but when I line things up flush with the ruler along the top it does cut with a slight slant. It seems to be a few degrees off so I have to preemptively tilt my paper to offset the slant. That seems to work fine. I also wish the cutting arm raised up higher because I cut illustration board with it and if I want to slide a longer piece under the blade to cut off it gets stuck a bit where the blades meets the board when raised because the arm doesn't go up high enough.

LOVE this cutter!

LOVE this cutter! After reviewing many different paper cutters from various price range I decided to go with this one. I wanted one that had a longer length for larger projects, but also was efficient. The cutter went through a TON of laminated sheets w/o a problem! Stayed sharp, cuts straight, ruled lines were great and straight as a guide, and I like how it feels heavy duty so it won't tilt when lifting the handle or shifting weight on the platform. The paper guide wasn't what I thought; it is removable and you just place it where you want. Doesn't slide easily in the grooved guide for it, but then again if it did then it wouldn't stay in place as a guide. I am very happy with this purchase and don't regret buying this cutter.
