The smallest size can hold up to 30 pages and the largest can hold up to 444. A great benefit to spiral coil is that the pages lay flat. Better yet, they fold nicely back to back and the choices of color is one of the largest in any type of binding. There are also custom lengths up to 36 inches. With the extra length on each end, you finish off your book with special wire cutting crimpers. Thank you for your question. You do not need a special machine to punch the holes to work with a 50mm coil. The coil will work with any standard 4:1 coil binding machine. For ease of use and assembly you would want to consider a machine that punches oval holes versus round holes. Oval holes give the coil a little more wiggle room when assembling and turning the pages after the book has been put together. With a coil as big as 50mm the coil may need to be inserted by hand most inserters aren't able to work with a coil of that diameter.
