I just purchase this machine to replace a very similar machine, which I liked, from another maker but had had some issues after about two years of use. Thought I would try this brand out and I do like the machine thus far. Its seems quieter and runs smoother. The foot petal works for punching and loading spirals while the other just worked on loading. The only thing I am not happy with is the cord length on the foot petal. It is long enough for desk height but not counter height. If the cord was longer it would be the perfect machine!

Purchased this machine some weeks ago. This machine is very sturdy/durable/well-made. It took some practice, especially with the automatic coiling feature, to get it down, but master it I have. I have already prepared several quality coil publications for library distribution of genealogies that I compile and publish through my small press. This was, for me, a worthy investment. And I am so grateful that I did not get the manual version. This is so much more time, and ultimately, cost efficient. I recommend this machine.

I have a graphic arts program at a high school and this machine has been a wonder for our teachers and staff who want colorful and useful handbooks, planners, calendars, etc. It is fun to use and my students love to choose new colors of plastic coil to match whatever project they are working on. The machine is plenty heavy duty enough for our projects. It has a small footprint, and fits nicely at the end of a table.

As a small business that bids on public sector work we are always looking for a way to minimize production time and effort. The AlphaCoil-E has provided us the ability to produce quality proposals and reduced the time and effort required. Our general production volume is 10-20 100-page proposals per week. The item is fairly lightweight considering its function and handles adequate volume as pages are removed from the printer and punched.

This machine was actually heaviver and better built than I thought it would be. Love the electric punch and roller. Makes binding documents so much easier.

We replaced a handle driven hole punching coil binding machine with this electronic machine. So far it has been great, it is used by about 100 students each semester and is holding up well, very durable.

Welcome to MyBinding video. This is a look at the AlphaCoil-E, an electric coil binding system by Akiles. The Akiles AlphaCoil-E is an all in one electric coil punch and inserter. It has a powerful punch motor and a full size coil inserting roller. The loading tray falls down in the front and has dual side margin control slides. They slide easily, they slide together so that your punches are consistent every time throughout your project and for your custom size projects, all the punch pins are fully disengageable. The AlphaCoil-E has both a push button punch as well as a foot pedal and on the right side of the machine is a depth of margin control knob. Push and turn it allows you for a thin or thicker margin depending upon the size and thickness of your project. With everything set in place, it's time to begin your project. If you start your project face up, continue on for your whole punches face up. To make your punches in batches, this machine can punch up to 20 sheets of 20 pound paper per lift. When all pages are punched, assemble your project together in order, it's time to bind. We need to select the right size coil and initiate that coil on to the spine before using the roller. The roller is here on the top of the machine and this switch allows the foot pedal to go from a punch to an inserter. Gently lead your book up to the roller and it will spin the coil right down the spine. The binding capacity of this roller is up to 1 inch. All punched chips fall in this tray below and is a great place to store your coil clipping pliers. With them, clip off both ends so the bound does not come apart. There it is, you have a great looking book from the AlphaCoil-E by Akiles. For more demos, reviews and how to's, check out MyBinding.com.
