Always start with a test page. From there you can see any incomplete holes. So, find the correct disengageable pins and pull them out. Do another test, then fold the page in half. If the holes line up, you are ready. If not, continue to adjust the edge guide.

When punching, we always start with the front and back cover—they are thicker, so punching two at a time is safe. You can also punch up to 20 sheets at a time, which will take more effort—though still doable. The fewer pages you punch at a time, the easier it is.

Now assemble your pages and put them into the rounded channel on the front.

This way your pages are formed nicely to insert your plastic coil into about 4-5 holes.

From there, with the roller already on, press the foot pedal. This will spin the front roller, to which you place your coil against and it will run it through all the holes. Next take the provided coil cutting crimpers.

Orient the book as seen here and cut off the extra coil on the right. Make sure that the dot on the crimper is facing up. Then flip the book around and do the other end.

Now you have a coil bound project. But there are a few more features to cover!

It has an open side design, which means you punch pages that are significantly longer as well. It comes with a coil and project measuring guide, and you can change the depth of margin. There are four depths as seen here.

From time to time, make sure to also empty the waste tray and slide it back in.

When punching, we always start with the front and back cover—they are thicker, so punching two at a time is safe. You can also punch up to 20 sheets at a time, though remember that the fewer pages you punch at a time, the easier it is.

Next place the appropriately sized comb into the teeth of the opener. The hooks will grab the binding and it should open up as seen here.

Now thread your pages in face down, starting with the front cover. The nice thing about this, is you can punch your pages, thread them in, punch the next batch, thread them in and do so until complete.

Close the binding back up and you now have a book bound with comb binding—next I’ll go over some extra features of the machine!

You can remove the opener to operate from the side, or as a two person operation.

It also has an open ended design for longer pages, and you can change the depth of margin. There are four depths as seen here.

From time to time, make sure to also empty the waste tray and slide it back in.
