Cutting a large board on a tool that is too short can lead to rough edges, uneven borders, and wasted material. Also consider where the cutter will sit. Waste usually comes from poor measuring, board movement, dull blades, or choosing the wrong cutter for the material. Mark trim lines clearly and confirm the finished size before cutting. Support the full board so it does not flex during the cut. Use a blade designed for the material, especially with foam board or dense display board. If the graphic is already mounted, keep the cutter on the waste side of the line so the final piece stays protected. For repeat jobs, use stops or recorded measurements instead of measuring each piece from the beginning. A single test cut can save a full printed board from being ruined.
