Salmon is an established color in professional tab divider systems, particularly in legal, government, and healthcare document management where multi-color organization is standard practice. It reads distinctly from red, orange, and pink, which are the colors it's most easily confused with, providing a clear visual separation when used in a multi-color set. In many established color-coding schemes, salmon occupies a specific position in the rotation alongside colors like blue, green, canary, goldenrod, and buff. If you're integrating salmon tabs into an existing color-coding system, confirm the exact shade matches your current stock. Salmon can vary noticeably between manufacturers, and a mismatched shade in the middle of a document set undermines the visual differentiation the color system is meant to provide. Copier tab stock should be stored flat, in its original packaging, in a cool and dry environment. This is the same conditions recommended for standard copier paper. Exposure to humidity causes the paper to absorb moisture, which leads to curling, feed jams, and potential color bleed if the stock gets damp. Storing tabs on edge or in a compressed stack under other heavy supplies can cause the tab extensions to bend, which affects how the tabs feed through the copier and can result in mis-registered printing. For offices that print tabs infrequently, keeping the sealed package closed until needed and using the full package promptly once opened is better than storing a partially used open pack for extended periods.
