Ideal for photo albums, swatch books, architectural and engineering drawings, menus, and more, these screw posts, also known as Chicago screws, provide a strong yet removable binding solution. Each set includes a threaded post and matching screw that fasten together through pre-punched round holes, creating a secure hold while allowing for easy updates or revisions. Available in sizes ranging from 1/8" to 1-1/2”. Product Details

The diameter of these posts is 3/16" and they are designed for use with a 1/4" hole that can be either punched or drilled into your documents to accept these posts.

The post length for these screw posts is 1/2". This means that the maximum binding thickness for these screw posts is 1/2". For best results and to ensure a correct fit, please measure your document thickness and ensure that it will fit.

The heads of the posts and the screws are 7/16" in diameter to ensure a good fit with 1/4" holes.

Welcome to MyBinding video. This is everything you need to know about Screw Posts. When using screw posts, there is no support to keep your pages straight, so we recommend using a thicker cover to help it from bending easily. They can be good for binding other materials, such as leather, which is thick and can't be used in a punch machine. You can find sizes of posts ranging from 1/8" to 5" and we offer aluminum posts, brass posts, black, gold, white plastic and black plastic. There are also extensions so you can use your smaller posts on the occasional larger project. They are made to fit into holes of 3 and 2-hole punch patterns. And those are screw posts. Good buy but check screw/post fit before using

The black screws/posts binding post pack arrived in a timely manner. Past experience from another vendor prompted us to check and 'mate' screws to posts. Nearly 80% of the screws and posts worked as they should. Another 5% were deemed usable. The remaining 15% were delegated to 'replacement parts if needed status. The 80% match was much higher than the result we had with the other vendor, whose product also was more expensive. We had a photography book that exceeded the 1/2 inch screw's capacity and had to run to a local source to find longer posts. We used the black screws from the our Binding 101 order with the local posts. Since the black screws were the only part visible and went with the interior of the book, it worked out. Considering that many of the binders that come with their own screw/post fasteners may not work well or seem to be cross threaded, we usually replace the originals with our own screws....... we made the decision to use Binding 101 as our primary source and will soon order some extension posts to fit several custom photography books that we are producing.
