The Pro-Bind 2000 is a heavy duty professional thermal binding system that is designed for organizations that are looking for machine that is both dependable and easy to use. The Pro-bind 2000 offers the ability to bind documents up to two inches thick, or you can use it to bind multiple documents at at time for a total binding thickness of up to two inches. Unlike many of the other thermal binding machines on the market, this machine is built out of metal which makes it incredibly durable. This makes the Pro-bind2000 an ideal solution for organizations that do moderate to high volumes of binding and don't want to have to replace their machine after a couple of years. The Pro-Bind 2000 is designed for binding both soft covered and hard covered documents. It can be used with traditional thermal binding soft covers including linen utility covers and GBC therm-a-bind covers. This is the Pro-Bind 2000 Thermal Binding Machine!There are two main features other than it’s durability. One is that it has a 2 inch binding capacity. The other is the binding length—long enough for even legal size books.Before starting, make sure you have the correct size covers for your page amounts. As you can see from this guide, my book is very small.Next, open your thermal binding cover. Observe the glue strip in the center—you always want your pages within the width of this. You can see it easier on this hardcover. Make sure your pages do not exceed past this width. At the same time, your pages should not be too few for the cover size.But it’s a simple as jogging your pages evenly together and inserting them against the glue strip. Close the book up, jog the pages again, and while holding the pages still insert the spine of your book into the machine.Give it another tap down so the pages are against the glue and insert it in. Since I am making a soft cover, I will push the soft cover button. This cycle took closer to a minute until it beeped notifying that it was finished. It’s important to then tap the pages down one last time and put it in the cooling rack, this way the pages are always in the glue until it hardens.If you’re not filling the space with multiple books, then you are not taking full advantage of this machine. Here I can make 9 small books at once.If you want to make hard covers, than this is a great machine. Again, jog your pages, align them evenly, tap them in place and insert the spine of your book into the machine. Push the hardcover button and wait for the machine to finish. This book took over two minutes.When it’s done remove the book and give it another tap, but instead of placing the book into the cooling tray, you’ll want to immediately place it into a hard cover crimper to hold the binding closed and to ensure all the glue stick to your pages.Now we have some beautiful and durable soft covered books, and hardcover books. Better yet you can purchase completely customized covers just for you, but you do have to call us to set that up.

Pro-Bind 2000 Professional Thermal Binding Machine Review

Thermal binding is fast, easy, and produces documents that look absolutely great. You can also create a whole lot of books in a short time if you use a thermal binder such at the Pro-Bind 2000. It's a professional-grade thermal binding machine that can bind hundreds of books in just one hour. Here's what's good and not so good about the Pro-Bind 2000.

What's good:

The 2000 is perfect if you need to bind lengthy documents. This machine can bind documents ranging thickness from 1/16" to 2". A document that's two inches thick can contain up to 400 pages. You documents can also be up to 14.75" long
Operating this device couldn't be easier. If you're producing a hardcover document, hit the "Hardcover" button. If you're making a softcover book, press the "Softcover" button instead.
This machine binds incredibly fast due to it being a thermal device. A softcover book can be bound in 30 seconds while a hardcover will take a minute. When the book has been bound, the machine will beep and turn itself off, thus saving power.
You can bind more than one document at once with the 2000. Depending on the thickness of your documents, it's feasible to bind up to eight of them at a time. Since it only takes 60 seconds to bind a hardcover book, it's completely possible to bind up to 480 of them in a single hour. That makes this machine perfect for high-volume output.
The heating plate is on a 15-degree angle. While this may not seem like a big deal, it helps keep the paper together better so your documents are bound more securely.
The 2000 has high-quality, all-metal construction so you can use it for a long time. The circuit board is located away from the heating unit thus reducing the risk of electrical problems and fire.
You can use store-bought thermal covers with the 2000 (such as GBC Therm-a-Bind covers), as well as your own custom-made ones.
Selecting the right cover is easy because there's a cover selector guide located on the back of the machine.
Finally, this product comes with a one-year warranty.

What's not so good:

To finish off your hardcover books, you'll need to crimp the spine. Doing this requires access to the Pro-Bind Hardback Cover Crimper, which is sold separately.
This isn't the most attractive binding machine in the world. If looks are important to you, a device such as the stylish Fellowes Helios 30 or 60 thermal binder would be a better choice.

Despite its rather bland appearance and the fact that you'll need to purchase additional equipment if working with hardcovers, the Pro-Bind 2000 is a great choice if you need a thermal binder that works quickly. It can bind an unbelievable number of books in a short period of time and it's very easy to use. If you need professional-looking books in a hurry, the 2000 is what you need.
