By opening envelopes on the underside without completely cutting through, the MA-1 prevents accidental damage to the contents and ensures that they remain secure. In less than 2 seconds, the machine can open an envelope, and it will then eject it into a mail tray. The design aims to keep the mail intact by avoiding shredding and preventing contents from accidentally falling out.
