Weš™ll start off by cutting he maximum amount of sheets of 15 pages. Slip your pages in, firmly brace the pages and make the cut. At 15 sheets it still makes a clean cut, and it is not too difficult to make the cut with this many pages.

On the board is a measuring length of 15 inches, the grid is measured in half inch measurements, and above are centimeters as wellš”but the top grid is still half inches.

Using the metal edge guide, I did a test to see if it was evenly aligned with the bladeš”not all cutters areš”but this one is precisely aligned!

There is a lock for the handle to keep the blade safely in position when not in use.

And the black metal guard helps keep your fingers away from the blade when holding them down when you make a cut.

One thing to mindful of. The longer a blade arm gets, the more it wiggles. This one has a little bit of wiggle, and if you try cutting too many pages, it is more likely to skew to the side a bit at the end of the cut. So donš™t overload it!

The top edge here is made of aluminum, the board itself is a dense wood, the blade edges and guard is metal, and the handle itself is a sturdy plastic. Flip it upside down to see more wood pieces and some small rubber pads.

I will say that I do like this product line of guillotine cutters!

and it's actually fun to use

This paper cutter has saved me much time - I used to use a rotary cutter because I thought it was more accurate. Then my husband talked me into getting one of these, and it's actually fun to use! I use it for trimming art prints so I can't speak to how many pages it may or may not cut, but what it important to me is accuracy and the ability to easily cut right angles. Maybe in time it will get wobbly but for now it's perfect. well almost - one thing I would like to see are more gridlines so that I can be certain I'm lining the paper up properly.

Quality you would expect from X-Acto

I have been using X-ACTO products for 40 years and they never let me down. I still have knife kits I purchased 40 years ago. This is a great cutter. This has a very sharp blade and the measurements are accurate. I have been using it to cut Flexible Magnet Data Card Holder and it works perfect. Not the cheapest but definitely worth it.
