This is the X-Acto 24š x 24š Heavy Duty Guillotine Cutter!

Before using, unlock the handle.

Youš™ll see that the grid is measured in half inches, though youš™ll still find centimeters and millimeters labeled on the table.

Iš™ve used several cutters where the back edge was not aligned with the grid and the blade, this one is however, giving you a straight and even cut every time.

The cutter claims to cut 20 pages at a time, but generally this results in a messier cut. We recommend 15 pages or lessš”the few pages, the cleaner your cut will be and the easier it will be.

Of course, this cutter is 24 inches on both ends. Which means you can get some pretty large projects in thereš”just make sure your table you put the trimmer on is large enough.

There is a metal finger guard near the bladeš”to keep your little fingers from being littler!

This is a strong and sturdy cutterš”the blade handle is all metal and the table and bottom supports are a dense woodš”no plastic pieces to this one and we like it!

I went big.

I bought this anticipating being able to cut large paper stock. I started out small but quickly realized that I could cut more than paper. I have used this cutter to cut 1/16" Kraft cardboard. No problem, like butter. Quick and easy, clean and square. This saves so much time over measuring and cutting with a box cutter.

Great cutter for vinyl graphics

Use this in my vinyl shop to cut out vinyl graphics. Works great. Sharp blade. Definitely a time saver if you're doing a lot of repetitive cutting. The only downside to this one compared to one of our previous cutters is that this one does not have a spring loaded hinge. Our previous cutter's hinge had a spring that pulled the handle up when you let it go. Since this one doesn't have the spring, the blade will drop if you release it. This could be dangerous, but after getting used to it, it's no big deal. In fact, if you raise the blade all the way up, it has some resistance that seems to hold it in place. But overall, good quality for a cutter of this style.

Amazing cutter, dangerously packaged.

I love this cutter. If you buy it, though, be careful as the blade is positioned lower than the actual base and is not covered. I nearly cut my thumb when trying to pull the cutter out of the box because I didn't know this. If you buy it, I'd suggest making a fabric slip or something to go over the blade because it's a risk/liability. As far as the performance of the device, absolutely no complaints. It's worth the extra to buy the larger, wooden base guillotine cutter over the cheaper ones. It cuts incredibly cleanly, sharply, and accuracy is easy to achieve.
