Welcome to MyBinding Video. This is the Tamerica Versabind E, a modular electric binding machine. This all-one-system allows you to bind four different binding styles with one machine. Let's watch it in action with this spiral coil. Regardless of the modular punch you're using, the side margin control knob helps to set a stop so that all the punches are consistent throughout your entire project. Here with the scrap paper you see the half-punched hole. This is remedied by the fact that all the pins on all of the dies are removable. On the side of the machine is the depth of margin control knob with four different settings. This will allow you to punch thinner or thicker margins according to the size and thickness of your book.

With your side margin and depth of margin controls in place, it's time to make your book. Begin with the covers, if you start with your project face up, make sure you process the whole project face up. The electronic foot or hand pedal on this Versabind-E is really handy, especially when you're punching 20 sheets of 20lb paper per punch. Once you started the spiral coil onto this spine, roll it into this groove with your hand all the way down so it runs the full length of the book. And then with coil crimping pliers, pinch off the ends and you're all done. But the greatest asset of the Versabind system are the modulator units. Four are included with the machine with 2- and 3:1 pitch wire, 4:1 pitch coil, and plastic comb. Each unit comes with a cheat sheet on how to bind with that style and what sizes you might need. And a simple turning of this screw on the right hand side allows you to slide out with one die and replace it with the different one, in this case the plastic comb die. Replace the screw to hold it in place and you can continue on with this kind of binding. The comb opener is located at the top of the machine where then you can open the comb, thread your book over the teeth of the comb, close it up, and you're all done.

When it comes to wire binding the Versabind does not have a fence but it has a holder to hold the wire in place while you drape your book over it. With the book all lined up, remove it from the holder and open this lid here, which is the wire closer. You adjust the size of the wire you are using, close it with the small handle on the right hand side, and you're all set. After changing the out the die, the 2:1 and 3:1 wire work the same way, just make your adjustment on the closer. And that is the Versabind-E by Tamerica. Welcome to MyBinding video. This video will show you how to change out the dies on a Versabind-E by Tamerica. Versabind systems come with four different modular punch dies: a 2:1 and 3:1 wire, 4:1 coil, and a plastic comb die. They all work exactly the same way and are installed and uninstalled in the same fashion. And there is no difference between Versabind-M or E. Let's demonstrate by replacing the coil die with the plastic comb die. This little knob on the right hand side locks the die in the place so it doesn't move around. Remove that knob and then slide the die out to the right. We found that with the first few removals of this dies it was a bit tricky. It was kind of sticky and you had to use a lot of force to push it out. Once you got going it'll worked really well. And the new modular die goes in reverse. Slide it into the groove all the way into the machine to the left and then fasten it down with the knob. The strength of this binding system is the modular units. All four of them work in the same way in the same machine, allowing for many different results. We hope this has been helpful. For more demos, reviews, and how to's, check out MyBinding.com.

Tamerica Versabind-E Modular Electric Binding Machine Review

Versatility is a wonderful thing, especially when it comes to binding machines. There are so many binding methods to choose from and having a machine that can do more than one of them can be very handy and allow you to get really creative. One device that offers four different binding methods is the Tamerica Versabind-E. This is a great device that you're going to love. Let's take a look at it and discover what it can do for you.

  • The Versabind-E can perform four different kinds of binding: plastic comb, 4:1 coil, and 3:1 and 2:1 wire. To switch between methods, you'll need to swap out one die set for another. All the dies you'll need are included with the machine. Also included are a comb opener, wire closer, and a coil channel so you'll be able to finish your document no matter which binding method you choose.

  • You can use a variety of supplies with this device because it's 100% compatible with all of the binding elements on the market. That way you'll be able to bind books of varying lengths and thicknesses.

  • This machine has a 20-page punching capacity, which is decent but not great. If you're going to be binding a bundle of thick books, you might find that the punching takes a long time to finish.

  • It's possible to create 250 books in a single hour when you use this device, so once the punching is done, you'll be able to crank out a lot of books quickly.

  • When you use the Versabind-E, you'll be able to punch and bind items that are up to 14 inches long. (However, you'll only be able to bind books up to 13 inches when binding with coils.) There are 24 fully disengageable dies that will allow you to produce different hole patterns.

  • You'll able be able to properly punch your paper because the Versabind-E has a side margin control and an adjustable depth of punch feature. These features allow you to select the precise placement of the holes so you can have perfect-looking books that will be less likely to lose their pages.

  • This is an electric device that's operated by a foot pedal. This will let you keep your hands free so you can get more done in a shorter amount of time.

  • The Versabind-E is extremely durable and will be able to withstand a lot of use. It's made entirely of metal so you can be confident that it's a real workhorse. Plus, it comes with a limited one-year warranty just in case something unexpected happens.

In a nutshell, the Tamerica Versabind-E would be a great choice if you want a machine that can do different types of binding. Having four binding methods in one machine is very convenient and will allow you to produce books that people will admire. You'll find this device to be well-built and overall, a great choice.
