Choose strip width by the document’s compressed spine thickness. Narrow strips suit thinner reports and short documents. If a job is close to the upper limit of a width, test a finished sample before ordering a full case. A strip that is too narrow may not hold securely, while an oversized strip may look bulky. CP strips should be considered when the document uses coated, glossy, matte-coated, photo, or other hard-to-bind paper. Standard Super Strip adhesive is designed for regular paper surfaces. CP strips use a higher-tack adhesive intended to reach through coated surfaces more effectively and are tied to compatible Fastback machines. Super Strips are still the right fit for many permanent Fastback jobs, but paper type should be checked before production. If the document surface is slick, reflective, or heavily coated, compare Fastback CP strips before using standard Super Strips for customer-facing reports.

Set up a repeat workflow around the machine model, strip family, width, paper type, and cooling time. Super Strips should be stored separately from LX, CP, Composition, and Perfectback strips because each family supports a different binding need. Operators should check the document thickness before choosing the strip width, then jog the sheets square so the spine receives even adhesive contact. If coated paper is involved, stop and confirm whether CP strips are required instead. Let the finished book set before heavy handling.
