It has a solid and well built rugged design that maintains consistency and quality without sacrificing style. Included is a movable fence with 2 strong magnets that stays right down to the base plate and can be used on either side. plenty of measuring tools on the top allow you to do a variety of different projects with great precision and the patented locking rail mechanism and premium carbide blade ensures a clean, precise cut every time. Slide your project under the rail, snap it down and it does not move. Although this one is designed to cut from the top-down, all rotary trimmers allow you to cut in either direction and the DC-250 can handle up to 20 sheets of 20-pound paper in a single cut. Even with a larger batch and if you have to roll the trimmer over a couple of times, it stays put and makes a great cut. While testing this trimmer, we found it works great with laminates, as well as photos. The 25 inch length allowed us to work with the largest of projects. That is the Carl DC-250 25 inch heavy duty 20-sheet rotary trimmer. For more demos, reviews and how to's, check out MyBinding.com.

Welcome to MyBinding video. This is a ‘how to’ video on changing the cutting blades and cutting mats on a Carl DC-250. The DC-250 has a small compartment on the face of the machine that can carry extra blades and extra mats. Included with your purchase is one of each. When changing the cutting blades, remove the 2 screws on the right hand side of the trimmer handle. Using a screw driver or just the fingers, remove both screws completely and then pull out the small unit by the little knob. You can switch the blade out with a new one or a different style of trim. We carry most of the supply that Carl brand’s makes for all different kind of trimming needs. Please use extreme caution when handling all of these blades. Even when they’re “dull”, they can still be very sharp. Replace the blade cartridge back into the handle and screw the bolts nice and even and nice and tight. You’re all set. Changing the cutting mats is even easier. there’s a small groove here, insert your finger and pop out the old mat, flip it upside down for using the other side or replace with a new one. Clamp it down, you’re ready to go. There it is, how to on the DC-250. For more demos, reviews and how to’s, check out MyBinding.com.

Thank you for your question. The Carl 25" Heavy Duty 20 Sheet Rotary Trimmer like most rotary trimmers is primarily designed to cut paper and paper products. It's success with with cutting fabric will be hit and miss at best. How well it cuts fabric will be greatly effected by the type of fabric attempting to be cut, the thicker and heavier the fabric the more difficulty it will have.

Just for clarification, a perforating blade is designed to cut "dashes" all the way through the page, leaving alternating sections uncut for easy tearing along the line. A scoring blade is a dull blade that puts a crease in the page with out cutting all the way through. If you are using the perfing blade and it completely cuts through the page so it does not remaining attached at all try to apply less pressure to the blade as it cuts through. IF you are still having issue your best resource will be the manufacturers technical support line : 1 (800) 257-4771
