Pressure-sensitive rolls can be less forgiving during setup because the adhesive begins bonding as the liner is removed. Proper alignment, roller pressure, and clean working conditions are essential for reducing wrinkles and trapped debris.

Gloss film enhances colour and contrast and is suitable for photographs, posters, menus, signs, and promotional materials. Matte film reduces glare and may make text easier to read under strong lighting. Specialty finishes can provide texture, writeability, UV resistance, anti-graffiti protection, or floor-graphic durability.
