A 110 pound tab feels firmer and may suit documents that will be handled frequently, but the printer must be rated for the heavier stock. Use the bypass or multipurpose tray when the equipment instructions recommend it, and test a small quantity before a full run. The finish and any reinforcement also affect the total thickness, so paper weight should not be considered alone. Select the lightest stock that provides the needed handling strength and passes through the printer consistently without curling, slipping, or jamming.
